Watch as F9 cast members like Vin Diesel, John Cena, and Ludacris struggle to keep a straight face while making the latest Fast & Furious movie.
Vin Diesel and his Fast & Furious family can’t stop laughing in the gag reel for F9. After being delayed from 2020 by the coronavirus pandemic, the ninth installment in the Fast & Furious franchise roared into theaters earlier this year and helped kick off the box office recovery. F9 debuted to a then-pandemic-best $70 million and, at this point in the year, is the highest-grossing Hollywood blockbuster at the 2021 international box office. Though things are far from normal, F9 has done much to help the moviegoing industry shift back into high gear.
Directed by Justin Lin, the movie picks up with Dominic Toretto (Diesel) and his family once more. After enjoying the quiet life for a little bit, Dom’s peace is disrupted by the arrival of his estranged brother Jakob (John Cena), who has partnered up with Cipher (Charlize Theron) with the goal of taking Dom down. F9 was jam-packed with the usual physics-defying stunts fans are used to, as well as plenty of surprises. For one thing, F9 revived fan favorite character Han (Sung Kang), who finally returned to start his long-awaited journey to justice.
With F9 officially available on digital, the gag reel has debuted online courtesy of Collider Exclusives. The nearly two-minute video finds nearly every cast member messing up at some point, from Diesel to Cena. Even screen vet Helen Mirren gets in a line flub of her own. Check it out down below.

Starting off with Diesel messing up an earnest morale-boosting speech is a smart move for the F9 gag reel, because nothing is funnier than seeing a serious moment get screwed up. The Fast & Furious franchise’s messages of family have become something of a meme of late, and it almost feels like Diesel’s blooper could fit right in with all the online jokes. Fans of the franchise will get a kick out of seeing the behind the scenes shenanigans that went down while making F9.
The main Fast & Furious series still has two more installments in store, but it already feels like the beginning of the end. Fast & Furious 10 is slated for release in 2023, so there’s still some time before the actual goodbyes kick off. Nevertheless, as the F9 gag reel reiterated, the cast and crew genuinely enjoy making these films, and it will be hard to reach the end. Little is known about the plot of the final two movies, but hopefully more updates will arrive soon. In the meantime, fans can enjoy F9 as it finally comes home via digital today and home release later this month.
