Gael Monfils and Elina Svitolina got married yesterday in Geneva after announcing their engagement in early April. The wedding reception was a huge party for both the couple and the guests, where Monfils even showed off his dancing skills.
Gael and Elina have been the powerful couple in tennis for the past two years. Earlier in the year, they had dropped some discouraging news of their separation; however, the couple were back together two months after the previous announcement.
Monfils and Svitolina had to get married, as their fans supported their relationship in every way possible. However, the French tennis player donned his dancing shoes during the reception party, as his friend joined him as well.
Okay I lied about the last tweet being the final for the wedding because there was finally a video of Gael dancing and I have to share. 😍❤️🕺🏿 pic.twitter.com/tktbhjUA1D – LaWanda (@ lawanda50) July 17, 2021
The player appeared to be in a state of ecstasy after taking off his jacket and dancing to the rhythms.
He showed hints of Michael Jackson in his movements before starting to jump with excitement. It was probably the aftermath of the “Yes, I do,” as the couple had officially become Mr.
and Mrs. Monfils. What’s next for Monfils and Svitolina? Although the summer of 2021 has been one of the milestones in their personal lives, Monfils and Svitolina have not had the best moments on the tennis courts.
Both Monfils and Svitolina crashed at the 2021 Wimbledon Championship in the second round of their respective categories. Monfils struggled during her game, however Svitolina looked weak against Magda Linette.
Gael Monfils has withdrawn from the Tokyo Olympics for unknown reasons. The Frenchman had long ago revealed his Olympic retirement. On the other hand, Svitolina will participate in the Olympic Games.
Elina and Gael have a joint Instagram account, GEMS, where they post cute photos and videos. Tennis lovers stopped posting on that account after their split for two months. However, love overcame all barriers and prevailed as the winner in their situation.
