Tesla is planning to begin electric car production at the site by the summer of 2021 with 12,000 employees and an output of at least 100,000 cars annually.

According to Tesmanian’s report, Elon Musk and Strausberg-Erkner Water Association (WSE) have already cleared out the water supply issues that were supposed to be blocked by the ministry as Tesla expands. Moreover, the soon-to-be-built hydraulic structure in 2023 would be the main source of Tesla Giga Berlin and is already approved by the government.

Initially, Tesla’s Gigafactory Berlin expansion plans were negated by the citizens and other concerned parties, and its expansion in the country was seen as opposition against businesses local in the area. Moreover, stakeholders were also a massive influence against Tesla’s expansion in the Gigafactory, despite it not being finished in construction.

On the other hand, Tesla’s water supply was already secured, as plans reveal that it would need as much as 1.4 million cubic meters of water and were already approved by the WSE for a maximum stake of 1.5 million. German media called RB24 reported that the hydraulic structure would be intended for other purposes, not entirely exclusive to Tesla.

Another German media called “ZDF Info” has created a documentary called “Turbo, Tempo, Tesla Elon Musk in Brandenburg” exposed the plans of Gigafactory Berlin, which villainized the clean energy company. This led to massive opposition against Tesla in the region and country, with its expansion being negated by concerned people.

The film mainly focused on Tesla Giga Berlin’s need for a water supply, and that its Phase 1 would already require massive loads of water from the region, which was said to have stakes on other’s supplies.
