The 2003 war romance epic Cold Mountain depicts an intense storyline as a wounded soldier decides to travel all the way up to make it to the Cold Mountain for reuniting with his lover. The events unfold in the wake of the American Civil War and adapt the best-selling novel by Charles Frazier.

Anthony Minghella has helmed and written the movie’s plotline, and it was commercially successful post its theatrical release. It made a box office collection of over $173 million. At the 76th Academy Award, it received a total of seven nominations.
